
Bob Hicks is serving his second term as the councilperson for Ward 2. His education culminated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Bob has been employed with BellSouth Telecommunications as a network manager since 1998, and works in the Alabama Operations Center in Cahaba Heights. He and his wife Lynn, married since 1983, bought their home in Alabaster in 1987. Bob and Lynn are blessed with two sons, Kyle, a senior at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama, and Kevin, a senior at Thompson High School here in Alabaster. The Hicks family are active members of the First Presbyterian Church of Alabaster, where Bob is an ordained elder. Bob is a Certified Municipal Official, a rank achieved by completing forty hours of training through the Alabama League of Municipalities based in Montgomery. His goal as a councilperson, in his own words: "I want to work for the benefit of all citizens of Alabaster, to make this City the best it can be, and show my gratitude for over two decades of quality living in a fantastic place to raise a family".
