Rep. Cam Ward Announces $44,000 in Grants for Alabaster Schools

(ALABASTER, ALABAMA)—State Representative Cam Ward (R-Alabaster) announced grants today for Alabaster schools.  The total amount of the grants exceeded $44,000.

Every school in Alabaster received some funding to assist in the purchase of supplies and other equipment necessary for classroom instructions.  Thompson High School also received funding to assist in the purchase of new library books and other equipment.

The largest grant was awarded to Creek View Elementary School in the amount of $30,000 to assist in the construction of their new playground.  “The playground equipment these children were playing on was really pitiful and I am glad to have been able to help them in their efforts to bring about a quality atmosphere for these kids,” said Representative Ward.

Ward also announced that in addition to the school grants, $1,000 was awarded to the Kids First Awareness Program operated by Cindy Hawkins.  “I am always amazed at the opportunities Cindy and her board provides for these children who would otherwise have nothing at all after school,” said Representative Ward.
