Mission Statement:
The mission of the Albert L. Scott Library is to provide excellent library and information resources and services to all the citizens of Alabaster.  These resources and services should help city residents obtain information to meet their cultural, educational, recreational and professional needs now and in the future.

History of the Library
The Alabaster City Library was built in 1983 on land donated by one of the city's founding families. A Library Board that is appointed by the Alabaster City Council supervises the Library. The Library has a yearly circulation of approximately 150,000 items, which include books, DVDs, audio books, e-books, e-audio books, and music CDs.  Internet access is also available through the library. Almost 300 programs are offered through the library throughout the year.
