Mayor

Background:
David Frings was elected as Alabaster’s Mayor in September, 2000. He has been a resident of Alabaster since he moved from
Mayor Frings worked as a Geologist for Alabama Power Company in the Construction and Power Generation Services Departments until his transfer to Southern Company in 2000. He worked as a Geologist, Construction Superintendent, and Safety Coordinator until his retirement in March of 2006 after almost 30 years of continuous service. After retirement, he accepted a position with
Mayor Frings and his wife Jennifer have been married since 1982. They have three daughters; Haley, Holley, and Heidi.
The mayor finished a Master’s degree from
Prior to his election, Mayor Frings served on the Alabaster Recycling Committee, chaired the Business and Marketing Committee, and served as Chairman of the Water Board for 2 years.
Future:
Mayor Frings has many visions for Alabaster in 2011 and future years. His top five goals for 2011 include:
· Additional partnering with the Shelby County Schools that serve the citizens of Alabaster.
· Work through our State and County officials to improve major roads.
· Continue to build on our economic success and progress
· Continue to grow and improve our park system.
