School Resource Officer Program
In September, 2002, the Alabaster Police Department was fortunate to be able to assign police officers to all of our public schools, through federal grants. Since then we have enhanced this program and our officers are part of a successful cooperation to ensure the safety of our children. If you would like more information about what our officer's duties are or have a question regarding the safety of our schools, please feel to contact Lt. John Anthony or any of the officers. They would be glad to introduce themselves to you or better yet, just ask your children who the School Resource Officer is in their school. I'll be willing to bet that they know them very well, and that's a good thing! We are here to help and to ensure your childrens' safety and your confidence. Please feel free to contact Lt. John Anthony about any issue or questions you may have about school safety or the School Resource Officer Program.
Reserve Police Officer
The Alabaster Police Department has an active Reserve Police Officer Program. The requirements to be a Reserve Officer are the same as that of a Full Time Police Officer. If you are interested or would like more information, please contact Lt. Skip Leslie at (205)664-6817 or Sgt. Woodall at (205)663-7401.
