Ward 1 - Sophie Martin

Sophie Martin represents Ward 1.  An Alabaster resident for 10 years, Martin is very active in the community.  She currently serves as Vice President of the Alabaster Arts Council, a group of volunteers that coordinates CityFest and supports the local arts.  She is also a Creek View PTO Board Member.  A graduate of Ball State University, earning a degree in Journalism, Martin worked as a former television news reporter for several affiliates including KTBC in Austin, Texas.  Martin is now the Corporate Communications Media Manager for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama.  She and her husband Rob have two daughters, Hope and Molly.
