Biography
Mike Myers was elected to represent Ward 1 in 2025. He has been a resident of Alabaster and Ward 1 for more than 18 years. Mike has enjoyed many years of serving the children of Alabaster by serving as a volunteer baseball and flag football coach in Alabaster’s Park and Recreation Department.
Education and Experience
Mike grew up in Elmore County and is a 1994 graduate of Stanhope Elmore High School in Millbrook Alabama. Mike is also a 1998 graduate of Troy State University with a BS in Business Administration. Myers has 17 years of experience in the finance/banking sector and 10+ years in public service as the Director of Unclaimed Property at the Alabama State Treasurer’s Office. Mike has served on the Weatherly Residential HOA board since 2013, including six years as President. Myers’s involvement with city government includes graduating from Alabaster’s first Government Academy class and leading the Alabaster Downtown Redevelopment Authority as Chairman from 2023 - 2025. I bring a wealth of knowledge in financial management and governmental operations. Additionally, I have served on the Parks & Recreation Board from 2017 to 2020, helping to shape opportunities for our youth and public spaces.
Beyond leadership roles in the community, I have devoted time to volunteering time by helping families in need through the Red Cross Project Share energy assistance program.
Family
Mike has been married to his wife Kimberly Myers for the past 24 years and they have two sons, Carson who is a senior at the University of South Alabama (THS Class of 2022) with a major in accounting and Ethan who is a Junior at Thompson and on the Varsity Golf team Class of 2027.
