Biography
Stacy Rakestraw is currently serving her fourth term as the City Council member for Ward 3 in Alabaster. A resident of Alabaster for 28 years, she is deeply committed to serving the community she proudly calls home.
Stacy is a graduate of Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing and Management in 1991. She began her professional career with BellSouth Mobility (now AT&T) in Memphis, Tennessee, before relocating to Alabaster. Today, she owns and operates a web development and online marketing company.
Community Involvement
Stacy has been actively involved in the Alabaster community for many years. She served as Children’s Director at Evangel Church for 15 years and remains an active member. Her community service also included involvement with the Alabaster Sports and Entertainment Foundation, the former Thompson High School Quarterback Club, and long-term volunteer work within the local public school system, where all three of her children attended and graduated.
She has served as president of the Apache Ridge Homeowners Association since 2011 and was a board member of the Alabama City/County Management Association (ACCMA) for several years. Stacy is a 2020 graduate of Leadership Shelby and is currently serving her second term on the Alabaster Water Board.
Family
Stacy and her husband, Kyle, have been married for 30 years and have three children. Their son, Jake, is a graduate of Troy University with a degree in Risk Management and Insurance and lives in Atlanta. Their daughter Faith Rakestraw Grill (Blake) is a graduate of Shelton State Nursing School and UAB, where she is now a Nurse Practitioner. Their youngest, Savanna Joy, graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a major in Human Resource Management and a minor in Philosophy, and works at a law firm in Birmingham, Alabama.
Stacy and Kyle are also proud grandparents to Thomas Warren Grill and enjoy life with their golden retriever, Daisy Mae.
