Biography

Rick Ellis was elected to represent Ward 2 in 2016. He has been a resident of Alabaster and Ward 2 for more than 15 years. Rick has enjoyed many years of serving the children of Alabaster by serving as a volunteer softball and soccer coach in Alabaster’s Park and Recreation Department.

Education and Experience

Rick grew up in Jefferson County and is a 1982 graduate of Shades Valley High School. Ellis is also a graduate of Jacksonville State University and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Ellis became a Certified Public Accountant in 2000 and has more than 20 years of accounting experience with various companies within various industries. Currently Rick is Chief Financial Officer with the non-profit, Camp Fire of Central Alabama.

Family

Rick has been married to Alabaster native Kristy Dennis Ellis for 12 years and has two daughters, Nora and Allie Rae. The Ellises are members of Alabaster First United Methodist Church.
