In February 2023, the city council voted to raise the sales tax in Alabaster by one cent, aligning the city with most of its regional neighbors. Since then, Alabaster has used the increased funding to invest in various capital improvement projects. It is the goal of the city to use these investments to meet the needs of the community and improve resident quality of life.
