2025 Thompson Youth Football

CHAMPIONS START HERE!

This is one of the top Football programs in the South.

Alabaster's youth football program is the lifeblood of the Thompson Warrior football dynasty. With four consecutive state championships and one of the best six-year records in the nation, the THS football team is primed for long-term success.

Over the past few years, THS has sent several players to collegiate programs, and there are even Warriors in the NFL.

The youth football players of today have become part of this championship tradition and are on the path of excellence.

Volunteer / Coaching / Team Mom Requirements and Background Screening Information - pdf

This is a Full Contact sport for the following:

  • 1st through 6th graders (2025/2026 school year).  Additional qualifications may apply before being accepted in this program.
  • Kindergartners  
    • MUST turn 6 prior to August 1, 2025!  
    • NO 5-year-olds accepted!  Absolutely NO Exceptions!
    • 6-year-old Kindergartners will be playing with 1st and 2nd graders in the Rookie 1 division.
    • Please call our office and ask for Jessica as On-Line Registration is not an option for Kindergartners.
  • Community Play Rule: All players must play for the member park community in which they reside, or for the private school which they attend.


Registration: April 28 through May 31, 2025

    • April 28 thru May 30
    • Weekdays only from 8 AM until 5 PM
    • Location: Alabaster Parks & Recreation Office, 200 Depot Street
  • Fees: $225.00
    • Multi child discount: 10% after oldest child is paid in full
    • Non-resident fee: Additional 10% per child
  • Payments:
    • We accept Cash, Visa, Master Card, and Discover
    • No Checks accepted!
    • Cash Payments: Please bring the exact amount owed as change will not be provided by our office.
    • City of Alabaster Employees: You will need to register in person or contact Jessica Butler. 
      • This applies to those who receive their paycheck from the City of Alabaster.
      •  It does not include employees of Alabaster City Schools.
    • Service Fee: When paying with a debit/credit card, whether online or in person, there will be a 3.5% service fee assessed by Municipal Pay Services, AL. The City of Alabaster receives no additional revenue from this fee.
    • Registration Forms will not be accepted or processed without payment. 
      • For special arrangements, contact Parks & Recreation. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for every child to participate.

Jefferson/Shelby Youth Football League (JSYFL)

Thompson Youth Football plays in the JSYFL.

JSYFL has the following divisions:

  • 1 Rookie division
  • 2 Junior divisions
  • 2 Senior divisions

Each team will play 8 regular season games followed by the Playoff and Championship games.

Each player must attend weigh-in and be certified in order to participate within the league.

  • Certification Day - Date, Time and Location TBA
  • Each player will need Proof of Residence, copy of School Registration Form, and Birth Certificate. 
  • Make up Certification Day - Date, Time and Location TBA

Home Games will be played at:

Larry Simmons Stadium (former THS Football Field)

Game days could be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (rare), and Thursdays.

Practices could be Monday - Sunday. Days and times are determined by coaches.

Single Game Nights: Games start at 6:30pm
Double Game Nights: Games start at 6:00pm and 7:15pm

Admission to games at Larry Simmons Stadium is $5.00 and 12 & Under is FREE (Card Only)
