Library Information

One County, One Card

Albert L. Scott Library is a proud member of the Harrison Regional Library System providing you with reciprocal borrowing privileges across the county. Your card is good at any Shelby County Public Library. Local policies, check out lengths, and item limits vary among our libraries. Books and audios may be returned at any library but magazines must be returned at the owning library. Our shared collections may be found in our Polaris database.

Memberships

To obtain a library card, simply ask for a form at the library and fill it out. You need to bring valid identification with your current address, such as a driver's license or a utility bill.

Applications for individuals under 18 years of age must be signed by a parent or guardian to verify parental consent.

There is a $3 charge to obtain a replacement card.

Residents & Nonresidents

There is no charge for Shelby County residents. Nonresidents must pay an annual fee of $30 for a library card. The nonresident fee is waived for those who work or attend school in the county.

Borrowing Privileges

Selected materials must be presented at the Circulation Desk for check out. A printout indicating the due date of the materials will be given to you.
